
Houseplants, so they say, bring a little
bit of the outside, inside. But I don't think
that is the real point of houseplants.
To my mind houseplants enable us
gardeners in the temperate climate
of the Northern Hemisphere to
dabble with plants a whole lot more
exotic than we could ever dream of
growing outside in our gardens. Orchids a good case in
point as they make truly exotic houseplants which are
relatively easy to care for and can provide a wonderful
display of flowers the whole year round.
